Counseling for First Responders

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I'm committed to walking alongside you to help you work through the difficulties you may be currently facing. While I know it’s hard to make the step to reach out, you have already begun a process of breakthrough and rather than seeing yourself as weak for asking for help, focus on the strength you have exuded in making this step to confront what seems like a mountain. I have a heart for first responders and how these jobs, such as Fire, EMS, Police, and dispatch, can begin to take its toll mentally and emotionally on those who are keeping us safe. I come from a family with those who served in the military and have seen first-hand how trauma can affect our daily functioning and become burdensome long-term. I use a client-centered approach that meets the unique needs of each client by assessing their situation and using an integration of various therapies to equip them to summit their mountain. While summiting we might laugh, cry, cuss and experience various emotions that can make the view from the top even more worth it.
